Well, when we start to find these cute monarch caterpillars on the milkweed in the back yard, my family and I know the summer days are coming to an end. My brain begins to turn on the gears and pull ideas from the back and place them slowly to the front. My pile of "school stuff" keeps getting closer in view...whispering for my attention.
These days are so bitter sweet. Enjoy the last few relaxing summer days before we turn on our teacher modes and teach the best subject ever...ART!
Enjoy an elementary art teacher's journey through a winding, colorful river full of whimsical, fun, educational and awe-inspiring projects...some my own, some I have found, some I have altered... feel free to use them in your classroom!

Cool! I hope I can find a monarch caterpillar this year. Tried to plant milkweed seeds I had collected but had horrible luck! I did have lots of black swallowtail caterpillars on the dill and carrots in my butterfly garden so I was happy about that!
